Our Dancing Video

Hello! It's Sarah here. Anna and I made a video last week, dancing to an instrumental song by ABBA, called Nationalsång (or Opus 10)! It's only pictures made into a sort of slideshow, and the second half is a bit slow (and a little sloppy, because, Nikki admits, she got lazy with the choreography), but we had great fun making it. It was Nikki's idea, because when she listened to the song, it made her think of two best friends losing each other and then meeting again, so she made up the dance, and we did it!:)

We hope you like it!

Meeting Catherine

Hello! It is Anna. Today, something very special happened. We met a new friend, who is called Catherine. I was the first to meet her today, and she is very nice. When I first saw her, I realized that she was blind. She was feeling along the wall as she walked, and her eyes were a very unusual color. When I ran up to her, I think I gave her a fright, because she turned very quickly, but she did not say anything.

"Are you Catherine?" I asked, putting my hand on her arm.
She seemed very shy, and she stayed quiet for a little, and then said, "Yes. Who are you?" "My name is Anna."
"It's nice to meet you."
"And you too. Are you okay?"
"I'm blind, so I have to hold the wall to know where I am."
"Would you like me to help you?"
She stopped to think for a while, and then she said, "Yes, thank you."

I took her hand, and started walking slowly.
"I'll take you into the lounge," I said.
"Thank you."
I did not say anything for a minute while we walked, because I wasn't sure if I should ask the question that I wanted to ask, but finally I did: "Were you born blind, Catherine?"
"No; I could see perfectly until three months ago. Then I got this rare eye disease, and my sight slowly got worse and worse, until finally I was blind. That only happened seven weeks ago, and afterwards, my eyes changed color." She stopped, and then ended shakily, "People say it looks horrible."
I felt very, very sorry for her, because although her eyes were very unusual, it was not ugly or horrible.
"I do not think it is horrible at all. They are a very pretty color, and it is just not what people are expecting," I said.
She said "Thank you," looking very grateful.
"I do mean it." I stopped at the corner of the lounge door, and said, "You must turn to the left here," and we walked in.
"How old are you?" she asked.
"I am 17. How old are you?"
"I'm 17 too. When's your birthday?"
"The eleventh of April."
"Really? Mine is the seventeenth!"
"That is great!... Stop here. There is a rocking chair to your right."

She reached out into the air and felt around until her hand was on the arm of the chair. I was about to help her to it, when we heard a shout.
"Hello Anna!"
We turned around, and I saw Sarah standing there.

"Oh, Sarah!" I said. "This is Catherine."
Sarah smiled.
"Hello Catherine," she said. "I'm Sarah."
"Hello."
"She is blind from a disease," I said.
"It made my eyes change color. I'm sorry if they look bad."
"No, I think they look lovely!" said Sarah.
"Thank you."
"Let me help you to that chair," I said.

"Are you comfortable there?" I asked.
"Yes, thank you."
"How old are you?" asked Sarah.
"17."
"That's the same as Anna! I'm 16."
"That's nice... What do you look like?"
"Oh, I'm sorry!" said Sarah. "I didn't think of telling you."
"That's okay."
"Well, I have curly brown hair a little past my shoulders, freckles, and blueish eyes that some people would call gray or purple, and my hair is partly pinned up on the sides right now. Anna has long blonde hair, which is in braids right now, and brown eyes, and she's from Sweden."
"So that's where her accent's from!"
"Yes," I laughed.
"You two sound very pretty."
"Thank you," we both said together.

We had a very lovely time with Catherine, and we cannot wait to have more fun with her. She is a very special person, and we love her very much.

The Liebster Award:)

Nikki here.;)
Christain Homeschooler and Doll-ightful Days nominated me for the Liebster Award, so I'm doing another award post!:)

Here are the questions I was given:

1. What is a favorite post of yours?

Probably when Anna and Sarah went outside together.:)

2. Do you have a favorite doll/stuffed animal?

Well, my favorite doll is Kirsten, and she's very special! For a stuffed animal, I would probably say a little blue Elephant called Ellie. She was my first stuffed animal.:)

3. The blog you have been following the longest?

Well, the first blog I properly "followed" was An American Girl Doll Story, but I've been reading American Girl Fan the longest.:)

4. Doll item on your wishlist? (Or clothes item, etc, if no dolls)

Right now I can't choose between a 1970 Crissy doll, American Girl Cecile, and the My Twinn Loveable Sister, Catherine.

5.  If you had to shop at one place for the rest of your life, where would it be?

I don't really know. If the local charity shop down the street counts, then there, because I love all the little things they get in, but otherwise, I'd probably say Asda (which is a UK supermarket owned by Walmart;)).

6. Cookie or cupcake?

Usually the cupcake.:) I like cake.:)

7. Favorite dog breed?

I'm not sure, but I like collies, retrievers, chihuahuas, and some terriers.:)

8. Favorite smiley face? (For example, :D)

Probably the tongue smiley, lol.:P (I also saw an upside-down smiley once, and I think that's cool!:))

9. Favorite holiday?

If you mean one that I've already had, probably when we went down to Plymouth in Devon for the weekend, three years ago.:)

10. Least favorite day of the week?

Probably Wednesday, because it's two days after and one day before rehearsals with my drama group, which are my favorite thing, and it's not a weekend like the gap from Thursday to Monday.:P

11. Greatest reward you got from blogging?

I think just the fun of being able to share things with people that I would've had alone otherwise.:)

Now, I'm meant to nominate 11 more blogs, but I can't, because most of the blogs I read have already had the award, so I'm just going to nominate the ones that haven't.:)

Little House of American Girl

An American Girl Doll Story

American girl Dolly Sisters

Here are my questions:

1. Who was the first American Girl doll you ever wanted?

2. If you have a doll with curly hair, how do you take care of it?

3. Do you like or have any of the pre-Mattel American Girl dolls (before 1998;))?

4. Has anything horrible ever happened to your dolls (such as, for me, Kirsten falling head-first into a bucket of old fishtank water, or Nellie getting a slug in her hair:P)?

5. Do you like to keep your historical dolls in historical clothes, or do they wear newer clothes?

6. Have you ever thought you'd grown out of your dolls but changed your mind?

7. Do you have a doll that looks like you? If you don't, does American Girl sell one that does?

8. Do any or your dolls have very loose legs?

9. (Weird question) Can you wait till summer?:P

10. Do your dolls have any pets?

11. Does your mom have any dolls?

I'm sorry for the boring questions, but I think I used up all my best ones on the other award.:P
Thanks for nominating me!:)
